National Doctors’ Day

National Doctors' DayToday is National Doctors’ Day!

What is National Doctors’ Day, you ask? Traditionally, March 30th is a day for healthcare organizations to honor their physicians, and the important role they play in the overall health of our communities. The holiday originated in 1933 in Winder, Georgia: Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, came up with the idea to honor the service our physicians provide. March 30th was chosen as the holiday date, as it was the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery, in 1842.

Doctors in Dentistry

Today, we’d like to especially honor all of the dental doctors out there! While dentists are not generally referred to as ‘doctors’ in casual conversation, they of course most certainly are doctors, and important ones, at that! Oral health is a pillar of a person’s overall good health, and without the service dentists provide, our lives would certainly have many more pains—and would likely be shorter, too.

So, a warm thanks to all of the dentists out there, for the —and especially to our NDPL Dentist Providers! You’re a tremendous ally in our goal of educating the public on the value of banking dental stem cells, and we tip our hat to you!
