The Future of Stem Cellsfuture of stem cells

The Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) found in dental pulp can differentiate into a variety of cell types including tissue, bone, cartilage, muscle, and nerves. Although the stem cells harvested from the dental pulp are not currently approved for use by the FDA, they are being evaluated in dozens of clinical studies throughout the world.  These studies are investigating future treatments for cancer, diabetes, spinal cord injuries, heart disease, strokes, and many other conditions.  Scientists are very optimistic that new cutting edge therapies will result from this research. Benefits of banking dental stem cells, while prevalent now, will be overwhelmingly prominent in the future with more treatments and trials coming every day.
