A special thanks to all who participated in the NDPL Twitter SciParty January 19th!
NDPL Cell Biologist Matthew Wilgo had a great time hosting the NDPL SciParty. Much ground was covered, including a discussion of the different types of stem cells, the discovery of dental pulp stem cells, and how they are processed in the NDPL laboratory. Matt also talked about the potential of dental pulp stem cells in future regenerative medicine therapies, including areas such as:
- tooth repair
- bio-engineered teeth
- neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease
- spinal cord injury
- dental pulp stem cells in the treatment of corneal damage
- regrowth of auditory cilia
Not able to make the SciParty?
If you weren’t able to attend, we’ve put together a Twitter ‘moment’ of the party, which you can view below.
